Why I am working with the Research Shop: Having collaborated with CESI in the past, I am pleased to join the Research Shop team for its strong commitment to knowledge mobilization that meaningfully connects research with community impact. This multi-level work not only allows me to further develop my research skills, but also provides opportunities to engage in critical systems-level change through community-centered research.
Program of study: I am a PhD student in Rural Studies. My research emphasizes critical approaches to economic belonging in rural communities seeking to attract and retain diverse populations, particularly newcomers who are racialized or queer. My work focuses on how rural places can build inclusive, equitable, and sustainable pathways for belonging.
