The Sandbox Program is Recruiting Community Partners for 2022-2023

Are you looking for support launching a social enterprise idea? Would you like to work with graduate students from the University of Guelph? The Sandbox, a collaboration between the John F. Wood Centre and the Guelph Lab, is currently recruiting community partners for its 2022-2023 iteration.

The Sandbox is a unique opportunity for Guelph and Wellington organizations to work directly with graduate students to create a high impact social enterprise. These students are enrolled in a specialized social enterprise program where they receive weekly training from our team of experts and will be ready to work alongside your organization in developing your plan and launching your social enterprise. The Sandbox includes workshops, project work and coaching and students will work with your organization for 10-15 hours per week, where you will have access to in house experts who can support your time on all things social enterprise.

The program will run from November 2022 to February 2023. Community partners are invited to contribute to program costs on a sliding scale, up to $3600 per project. They are asked to contribute what is financially possible given their circumstances. This ensures the sustainable operation of the Sandbox, specifically the stipends paid to students. Applications for community partners to be involved with the Sandbox program are due on June 24th, 2022.  Graduate student recruitment for the Sandbox program will begin in July 2022.
