We are excited to share that the Guelph Lab, one of CESI's program areas, has been featured in University of Guelph News! The article highlights the collaborative development of the Guelph Energy Equity Action Plan. The project brings together the University of Guelph, the Guelph Lab, the City of Guelph, and the University of Toronto to improve energy equity for Guelph residents.

The action plan outlines practical recommendations to make energy more affordable, accessible, and equitable. Recommendations include expanding home energy retrofit programs, improving community outreach, and developing an energy coaching program. The article highlights how community-engaged research and participatory policymaking informed the plan through the lived experiences of residents facing energy affordability challenges. The Guelph Lab played a central role in bringing together researchers, community organizations, municipal partners, and residents throughout the project. Sam Laban, Guelph Lab Facilitator, helped foster these collaborations, ensuring the action plan reflected community priorities and local expertise.

As Elizabeth Jackson, co-director of the Guelph Lab and director of CESI, notes "The Guelph Energy Equity Action Plan is a great example of what is possible when teams come together from the public sector, academia and community to solve complex policy challenges."
