This lunch and learn session hosted by the Hub for Teaching and Learning Excellence and the Community Engaged Scholarship Institute features an interactive panel of faculty, staff and community partner experts. Panelists will provide insights into their own community engaged learning partnerships across undergraduate and graduate courses. They will also address questions from attendees about the processes, successes and challenges in co-creating critical knowledge and scholarship in the context of course-based community partnerships.

Join us for this series of four Friday evening workshops with facilitator Kevin Sutton from Threshold, to explore how we can have a more fruitful and fulfilling journey toward supportive professional environments.

The Community Engaged Scholarship Institute works to integrate community-driven research into the course context, introducing students to collaborative research and key issues of relevance in our community.

This workshop is designed to support organizations serving vulnerable people in the Guelph area to come together to be introduced to the Sustainable Livelihoods framework. Sustainable Livelihoods is an approach to working with individuals and communities which was developed to capture the many effects of social and economic exclusion on peoples' lives, and to learn how they can be supported to move out of poverty towards resilience and livelihoods.

Translating knowledge to increase the health of indigenous communities: the Torres Strait Community of Practice project

"Doing Good in Communities' is an experiential First Year Seminar course at the University of Guelph that challenges students to think beyond volunteering and charity as the means to have a positive impact in our communities. Over the course of the W18 semester, interdisciplinary teams of students address specific challenges identified by community-partners (OurEnergyGuelph, UofG Sustainability Week and Victor Davis Memorial Court Non-Profit Homes) using tools and techniques from lean business models and social enterprise startups.
